Payment Methods

We use Stripe as payment processor. Stripe accept payment with credit card/debit card brands such as VISA, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, card payments via Apple Pay/Google Pay, or pre-paid credit card services (e.g. VISA Prepaid).

PayPal accepts banking in addition to credit/debit card and other payment methods.

Common Issues


Using Prepaid Cards

If you are using prepaid card, we strongly recommend that you go for one-time payment via PayPal.

If you are using a VISA prepaid card, subscription renewal may fail depending on the card issuer's precautionary measures against automated payment.

Use our one-time payment option via PayPal.

2.
Cancel your existing subscription from Customer Portal and create a new subscription.

3.
(Not recommended) Buy a gift code and apply it yourself.

4.
Ask your card issuer to temporarily relax their security measure.


I can't renew my subscription!

If subscription renewal fails due to insufficient balance, lost card notification etc. you may be blocked from making further payment..

Answer:
Cancel your existing (failing) subscription from Customer Portal and create a new subscription.

Prepaid card may get blocked from renewal after the second month depending on the card issuer's precautionary measures against automated payment.

Incorrect CVC

When payment is blocked for reasons such as incorrect CVC, it may take some time for the payment to be returned to your balance.
If your payment is not returned after waiting several days, please contact your card company such as VISA LINE Pay. We don't have any control on this matter.


Linked Account

Our system treat Linked accounts (such as signing in with LINE) and accounts created with e-mail as different accounts internally.

There are cases where you may be subscribed with one account and signed in with another, while mistakenly reporting to us that your payment is not reflected or that you are charged even though you are not a subscriber.
Please be sure to double check before contacting us!


Apple Pay / Google Pay

To subscribe using Apple Pay or Google Pay, a valid card must be linked to Apple Pay/Google Pay. No option will be shown in Stripe/PayPal unless at least one card is linked.


Browser Issues


My works are not saving anymore!

There have been several reports where browser storage is full or cookies have been disabled, resulting in works not being saved or loaded locally. Furthermore, you may encounter problem with signing in via external services.

If you are experiencing this issue, please try exporting some of your works in local device and then deleting them, or clearing ai-novel.com's cookies and cache.

* Be sure to export and backup your works before clearing the cache!


Misc. Questions


Cancelling/Changing Plan

When will my subscription renew?
Subscriptions will be invoiced 2 hours before the next due date. If you wish to cancel, please do so as soon as possible, at least 6 hours before the next due date.

Can I cancel my subscription mid-month and keep on using my premium?
Your premium status is vaild for the remaining period.

What will happen if I downgrade mid-month?

Your premium status will be downgraded immediately. You may upgrade again by paying the amount of difference for the remaining subscription period.

Can I receive Lumina for upgrading mid-month?

The current rules are as follows.
1. You can upgrade your subscription by paying only the amount for the remaining subscription period.
2. Lumina will be granted when you open AI Novelist at the time of next month's renewal (more precisely, when your invoice is paid in full).
3. Downgrading mid-month will downgrade your premium status immediately. You may upgrade again by paying the amount of difference for the remaining subscription period.

I want to change my subscription, but nothing is listed in Customer Portal?
If you cancel your subscription mid-month, or if your subscription is automatically cancelled due to payment failure or other reasons, you will not be able to upgrade during the current period. You will need to create a new subscription after the current period is ended.


About Refunds

Refund requests due to personal reasons (e.g. "I am not using the service as much" ) will not be accepted.

To ensure smooth processing, please make sure to attach the receipt sent from Stripe or PayPal or tell us the e-mail used for the payment.

* After the refund is processed, it may take 1-2 weeks for the refund to be reflected to your account depending on the card issuer.
